The law of polarity is a law that I have learned to understand very well. I have bipolar disorder and have seen life from both the top and the bottom.
Everything in the universe exists on a spectrum of opposites.
There is nothing opposite about states however, there is simply varying degrees of the same thing. Taoism is a great system of thought for encapsulating the laws of polarity and rhythm.
Part 6 (the law of rhythm) is the most interesting law from my perspective, mastering the laws of polarity and rhythm are essential parts of living life to the fullest.
The laws of polarity and rhythm work hand in hand.
Everything exists along a pole, a millionaire is poor in comparison to a billionaire yet rich by society’s standards.
On one end of the spectrum of being, you have absolute nirvana or 7th heaven.
On the other end you have hell which is a damned and hopeless state.
When you reach one extreme, you get a coming back that goes full circle, it’s always darkest before dawn. As Alanis Morrisette would say, “life has a funny way of blowing up in your face”.
But when you’re down and out life has a funny funny way of helping you out.
When life is at it’s worst and you can see no way out of trouble, you will likely be given last minute miracles to save you from damn-nation. When you are successful and you begin to rest on your success, you will be brought back down to earth.
The secret to mastering the law of polarity is to constantly focus on the positive polarity at the expense of all things negative.
I embody a belief system called “radical positivity”, I’m always looking on the bright side of all matters most would be devastated by. I suffer some of the time, this is un-avoidable but I always look to move on from the negative and focus on what I can do.
Heaven and hell are really just one inch apart.
To be on the right side of that inch, you have to constantly be using the power of positive thinking. Gratitude is the way to increase and emotions like anger, fear, and any emotion you can’t let go of will end up causing you to falter.
“All truths are but half-truths, all paradoxes meet and can be reconciled.”
Everything in life is always coming full circle, the introvert will develop into someone who is great with people, the extrovert will enjoy solitude more and more as life goes on.
The man who in his late teens and early 20’s can’t get a girlfriend will have a greater abundance in his 30’s and 40’s. The woman who has all the abundance in the world at age 20 will see fewer and fewer options at ages 35-40. Women will regress with age while men will progress with age.
Time favors the man; nature favors the feminine. The mind improves with age, the body will regress with age. Time is the great equalizer.
Success is all about seeing a positive pole and latching onto it.
A genius will be able to see the opportunity behind all difficulty and use it to make lemons.
So to make the best of the law of polarity understand that your potential is limitless, both upward and downward.
